Brecon Cathedral’s Lunchtime Recital Series 2026 returns 17th April. A wonderful way to spend your lunch hour. All concerts are free to attend, but donations are welcome. Welcoming a mix of familiar and new performers with varied musical talents, a real treat. All concerts start at 1pm.

Craig Revel Horwood is a national treasure. The longest-serving judge on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing is the master of the Glitter Ball. After starting as a dancer, he worked on the nation’s biggest musicals and became a choreographer, director, and best-selling author. Craig’s also a remarkable singer, and to celebrate the release of his debut solo album – and new book, Revelations - he’ll reveal his own, hidden talent during a Fab-U-Lous night of big songs, tall tales, and glamour. Brecon Jazz Festival 2026
Brecon Jazz quickly grew to include concert venues as well as music on the streets, attracting international musicians as well as thousands of visitors. It is said that anyone well known in the jazz world has played Brecon Jazz. Brecon Jazz Weekend 2026 will be held 7th - 9th August 2026.
MWR&BC Presents the return of Jack J Hutchinson to The Muse in Brecon with guest support Aled Clifford
London based blues rock guitarist Jack J Hutchinson has announced three intimate acoustic performances for the summer of 2026 the middle one being for the Club & The Muse in Brecon the only date in WALES. Showcasing the blues and roots side of his playing, the shows will feature new material written especially for the run, plus select covers of blues artists who have influenced his song-writing.
Mid Wales Dance Academy Junior School Summer Showcase 2026
This special performance celebrates Mid Wales Dance Academy’s youngest dancers as they take to the stage to share what they’ve been learning this year. Inspired by the tales of Beatrix Potter, our ballet brings familiar characters and stories to life, alongside lively tap and energetic street dance routines that show just how much these little performers can do. BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales: Seasons & Stories
Conductor Paweł Kapuła brings a work from his native Poland to the stage as he makes his debut with BBC NOW this May at Brecon Cathedral - Marta Ptaszyńska takes the sounds of Vivaldi and transforms them into a new, almost surreal sound picture in A Winter’s Tale, written in 1984. BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Sterling Elliott also debuts with the Orchestra in Schumann’s intensely lyrical and meditative Cello Concerto, and we explore Mendelssohn in cinematic fairytale form in his overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Although less frequently performed than some of his other symphonies, Beethoven’s Second Symphony is a snapshot of Beethoven at his most humorous.

Pam Ayres - Doggedly Onward
Pam Ayres has spent a lifetime providing hilarious insights into the delights and tribulations of everyday life. She has now gathered her poetry into her latest book, DOGGEDLY ONWARD – A Life in Poems, 1970s-2020s, tracing the course of her life. Recent TV appearances include two series of The Cotswolds for Channel 5, This Morning, Alan Titchmarsh, Countdown and Would I Lie To You? At Theatre Brycheiniog this May.

Royal Ballet & Opera: Eugene Onegin (Met Opera) [As Live]
Following her acclaimed 2024 company debut in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met as Tatiana, the lovestruck young heroine in this ardent operatic adaptation of Pushkin. Baritone Igor Golovatenko reprises his portrayal of the urbane Onegin, who realizes his affection for her all too late.
