It’s Brecon Baroque Festival’s 20th birthday and still it thrives in the lovely setting of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Our 2026 Festival, From Dowland to Bach, takes place between 16 and 19 October. Visiting artists include harpsichordists Kris Bezuidenhout and Marcin Światkiewicz, recorder player Lucie Horsch, viola da gamba player Mélisande Corriveau, In Echo, Fretwork, Ian Bostridge and writer, Horatio Clare.

A series of talks, a town walk and a special festival evensong complete the weekend’s programme.

Brecon Baroque Festival was established by Rachel Podger in 2006. Each October Rachel gathers together some of the world’s leading period musicians for a long weekend of performances and workshops in Brecon Cathedral and Theatr Brycheiniog, bookended by walks and talks in and around Brecon. Rachel’s commitment to the next generation also means that each festival includes opportunities for students and younger musicians to be involved and play alongside musicians at the height of their profession.
